Legal assistance in employment relations.

In employment relations, mistakes are costly for both sides: the employee may lose income, while the employer faces compensation and litigation costs. Many disputes can be avoided if documents are drafted precisely and decisions are taken in line with the Labour Code.

If you have suffered damage due to an accident at work or workplace bullying, see “Compensation for damage”.

Frequently asked questions

What you should know.

What should I do if my dismissal seems unlawful?

The most important thing is not to delay. A short, one-month time limit applies to dismissal disputes, and once it has passed it becomes difficult to defend your rights. Keep your employment contract, the order or notice of dismissal, your correspondence with the employer and the final settlement documents. Then consult a lawyer.

Where are employment disputes heard?

Most employment disputes over rights are first heard by the Labour Disputes Commission at the State Labour Inspectorate. Its decision can be appealed to a court. Some disputes are heard directly by the court.

Should I sign an agreement to terminate my employment contract?

A mutual agreement can benefit both sides, but once it is signed there is usually no longer any basis for challenging the termination. Before signing, it is worth checking whether the terms of the agreement, such as the amount of the payment and the end date of employment, are in your interests.
